Anderson Coopers' Gun Show...

While covering a story about looting taking place fallowing the devastating earthquakes in port au prince, CNN reporter Anderson Cooper springs to the aid of a young boy caught in a cross fire.

These are graphic images...

As I watch this footage, Kevin Carter's Pulitzer Prize wining image comes to mind. Some consider Cooper a hero for his part in pulling the boy to safety.

After attending a benefit for Haiti tonight, there were some strong opinions on how Haiti's tragedy is covered by journalists and the news media... I am not quite sure exactly how I feel about either opinion, I just hope this boy came out ok...

What is the responsibility of the news media whilst covering these stories? Please share your opinion...

Definitely opportunistic, Even Sanjay Gupta staying in the camp when the other doctors left seemed to be more of an attempt to win an award than help. CNN is funding them and paying for their personal security off camera, so they wouldn't be doing these things if the cameras weren't there, but nonetheless a good act though it may be vein is still a good act.
