@ralstonsmith @Jabari @marcusbird

It was only earlier this morning I finally made an effort to find some working headphones because I was sick of silence. On the 6 tonight I felt inspired by the playlist I was jamin on featuring Theophilus, Yeezy, Donnis, & Tiny Temp... What the hell was I thinkin? Doin this ish with out music?

Later- I hit up a twitter crawl that produced this list that could go on and on.. These three tweets got a bro thinkin of funny situations where I've seen them last vs. what's happening in their video's below.

What Up These Dude's R Doin It!

This dude got the world coming to him shortly. I caught the hype on twitter leading up to it, and knew it would be a fly shindig.. I came across this joint from my man @Jabari The fly recap vid says it all! (Seems like I missed a dope jam; thought you might wake up on a leopard print sofa, and pull out a little monster at some point, lol!):

Scrolled down to see a response from a country man I use to kick it with before he became the first Jamaican to announce he is a Jamaican in Japan on a bloggly basis.. @marcusbird I haven't seen you in a min fam, what up? Thanks for showin me the top of mt. Fuji (btw, shared your blog with my older sis.. We haven't spoken in length for a while, but thought it might brighten her spirits):

Finally I heard my man @ralstonsmith was back states side, and he decided to let somthin drop with little time to waste (the work gets cleaner and cleaner each time, a try storyteller at work here bro):

Was just diggin Little Dragon, plus I rediscovered Rally's blog!!

Really dope to see when people I have some sort of link to can fit collectively in a post on inspiration.

It's the right time for all of this..

new Show Reel featuring the work of your's truly...

Enjoy yourselves!

Do you remember burning the streets?

Was browsing the Source when I came across The Rumpus Room. From there I stumbled onto this nice little docu-lifestyle interpretation ment to send Coke dreams flaming down the neurological rails of our imaginations..

I enjoyed the film Burn Ignite almost as much as The Rumpus Room's fresh (in motion) logo design.

Own The Night

October 31st, camera crews were sent to Factory Studios to document a night of debotury. The crew was never seen again, but their footage was recovered....

Never Sleep on a Deftones Video!

The Deftones have always had a unique sound next to your run-of-the-mill Numetal bands... They've also had an interesting take on their music video's. Shark diving in the Arctic, black and white k-hole experience(s) juxtaposed poetic or even somewhat cryptic lyrics, and now this. Their latest:

I'm in love with the song, might make a playlist or 2. Picked up the album for this alone!

Album: Diamond Eyes | Director: Zak Forrest Chad Liebenguth | Production Company: ZF Films | 2010

A bit reminiscent of:

I was a big fan of this when I fist saw it.

Song: Hyperballad | Directed by Michel Gondry | Written by Björk.

This Vid's So Hot Right Now!

Director Chris Robison banged this joint out for Usher, and LeFace in 2004

Got the pleasure for workin with this joint today. Watch out on VH1!

Old fav of _bpg__! [ODD DOLLS FILM]

dbp set out for a second round with Open lab Magazine [1st round seen here] to develop a print story revolving around the idea of old dolls. Arranging his team, he reached out to us here at CL to work on a just for fun narrative film to be shot during the production of the dolls story. I developed the story further to include a bit of history in regards to beauty and how it fades(almost like a light bulb) over time.

The funny thing about beauty is that it doesn't necessarily have to age to be disregarded.

The print story was published with Italian Mag Benvenuti, and the Film still exists [just released on the web today] as a personal exploration of fashion film shot on the 7D.

Inspired by dbp's mood's, and the legend behind the faceless doll here's what we've come up with:

Enjoy!

Experimental Fashion peace put together a little while back. First time shooting with the 7D, and a collaboration with _bpg__ to construct a fashion narrative based around the story of the "faceless doll".

Way To Be A Young Geezer!

UK Director Tim Brown brings you back to when you were 10, 12, or even 27!

I've had the honor of working with this guy at 1st Ave Machine on the Google Chrome Extensions/Translations campaign. Before my most recent trip to Cali [filming a video that has yet to see the light of day] Tim took time to ask for frequent updates on my pre pro... I don't expect many of the directors at1st Ave to go out of their way to check me out, but Tim made sure to ask how it went as soon as I returned from my week long war in the trenches..

Tim's turned out to be a hearty dude [he's killin it!]:

This guy is a talented dude. I've recently taken some time to view a few of his films, and I can tell there is no slowing him down.

Was Planning On Moving....

In my small ass BK style apartment, I'm complainin ALL-DAY!

I'm beginning to think that is the wrong approach to getting by with this economical recession... Bigger is not always better, and sometimes one just needs to be happy with what they have in order to really achieve a certain quality of life.

Truth is I chose where I reside because I wanted it cheaper [not to complain, but by cheaper I mean seemingly cheaper until you find out your paying just as much as everyone else you know when you factor in the utilities that are usually included in rent here in NY], and I thought the backyard would be perfect for THIS.. [ahem, ahem, what up LFPE 2010 calendar?!] Those are the selling points.

Well know all I wonder is what it would be like to have this dude as my roommate:

Be happy with what you have. Because if your not, he will come and he will make you look SO BAD!...

YO SIGN ME UP!

dbp_ opening via Da Cutta's cuts!

dbp_ was one of the few hosting the May 11th senior show at Calumet NYC.

A line stretched into the street as interested viewers waited their turn for a ride up to the 2 floor showing. From down the block, I realized I was later than my JA timing usually allows. I would be forced to shuffle through the crowd, hoping someone would mistake me from my brother (usher me through an artist entry or somthin). Although I was mistaken for Don, I had no access advantage. I cut the line and ended up next to Brandon and Janina. Crazy thing Brandon was showing work too, but had been in line for about 15min! Finally a packed cube closed off one of its sides, raised two floors, then opened at the other end releasing fresh faces into the masses. The Gallery was packed, in fact it looked something like this:

DBP Calumet Gallery Teaser from Jay Morales on Vimeo.

I thought with a few missed connections, and a line out the door, I was never going to make it inside; however once I did there was a party in full swing! Nothing but respect for Da Cutta [Jay Morales] for swing through with his beautiful fiancée and doing two of the things he does best!

PARTY & BULLSHIT!

No really, he came through with the capture of this moment important to our crew's lives. Maybe when were 60, the digital color burns will flash and jerk tears from the eyes of geezers. Jay "Da Cutta" is on his way to be a one man shop for producing timeless events! dbp_ is fresh into it, ready to twists some necks with what he's got hangin on the wall!

Calumet closed the senior exhibit expressing that it was the largest opening they have ever hosted. If you missed the first one, check out the second opening of this exhibit:

Don Brodie and a lot of his colleagues worked hard for that night. By the looks of the vid, It seems to me like he very much enjoyed it!

_rbc all day gave him the pointers on tha drobe, Jay Morales Da Cutta cut his hair and also did everything to bring you this slick vid! DONOR BABY!

Somewhat of an Optimistic Protagonist.

Maybe it's because I'm a fan of Batman.

Or possibly it's the fact that I'm intrigued by a lifestyle like Donald Draper. You may never know what is there under the mask, or behind an open stare.

Ask no questions, receive no answer. Ask the right question, and you might get a hint of a smile. Learnt by observation and only gaining trust through experience; I'll take my time before capitalizing on the specific opportunity that I have in mind.

Anderson Coopers' Gun Show...

While covering a story about looting taking place fallowing the devastating earthquakes in port au prince, CNN reporter Anderson Cooper springs to the aid of a young boy caught in a cross fire.

These are graphic images...

As I watch this footage, Kevin Carter's Pulitzer Prize wining image comes to mind. Some consider Cooper a hero for his part in pulling the boy to safety.

After attending a benefit for Haiti tonight, there were some strong opinions on how Haiti's tragedy is covered by journalists and the news media... I am not quite sure exactly how I feel about either opinion, I just hope this boy came out ok...

What is the responsibility of the news media whilst covering these stories? Please share your opinion...
